Testimonials From Our "Extraordinary Women" Ad Campaign

Lynn Orbison

To say that Lynn Orbison is an active woman would be an understatement. When she’s not mushing, publishing books and caring for her menagerie of dogs and farm animals, she’s founding agencies like the Second Chance League, an organization devoted to training and placing sled dogs from the shelter that still have long, productive lives ahead of them.

Needless to say, Lynn does not find much time to go clothes shopping. When she does, she goes to The Prospector because she knows she’ll find an outstanding selection of cozy, colorful and durable winter clothing for indoors and out.

Whether she’s driving dogs or filling out paperwork, Lynn expects her clothes to keep her warm and comfortable through many seasons, so she relies on quality brands like Carhartt, Manzella, Duofold, Columbia and Turtle Fur from the local store she trusts, The Prospector.

Lori Schoening

Lori Schoening has been a regular Prospector shopper for years, and it’s no mystery why. She knows that at The Prospector she’ll find a large selection of clothing and footwear for herself and her family in a spacious, comfortable setting.

As a life-long Alaskan, Lori also enjoys the local, friendly atmosphere at The Prospector. She explains, “The Prospector is a very welcoming place. I get a comfortable sense of casual Alaskan hospitality every time I step inside.”

Lori used to only think of The Prospector as an outerwear store, but she’s discovered that they also carry casual women’s clothes and footwear. She says, “I love soft clothes that fit my figure, but I am not built like a model. At The Prospector I find clothes that accentuate my curves without sacrificing comfort.”

Kitty Berner

As an active mom and librarian, Kitty Berner likes her clothing to be casual and comfortable for home, but professional enough for work, so we invited her to go on a shopping trip at The Prospector.

At first Kitty was skeptical: “I didn’t really think they had anything I would want. Last time I shopped there, it seemed to be wall-to-wall Carhartts and heavy-duty gear.” She was pleasantly surprised, however. “There was a lot of quality women’s clothing organized and displayed in an appealing way. There were many things that I liked.”

Overall, Kitty’s Prospector experience was a positive one, and she knows now that it’s a store where she can buy comfortable and stylish clothes for indoors and out. “I was pleasantly surprised by the store–it is greatly changed from how I remember it.”

Kris Knutzen

As a small business owner who organizes local trade shows for a living, Kris Knutzen knows what qualities make a successful local business. She finds those qualities when she shops at The Prospector.

At The Prospector, Kris knows that she’ll find friendly faces who will go the extra mile to make sure she’s satisfied with her selections. “The salespeople are always pleasant and helpful,” she explains. “Last year I came in to do my Christmas shopping for my two grown children. One of the younger salesgirls helped me pick out the right style and colors of clothing. She was a big help.”

Kris also likes the look and feel of the store itself. “I hate shopping in messy, cluttered stores. The Prospector is spacious and attractive. It’s a pleasure to shop there.”
